Waterjet Cutting

Custom Cut Glass NYC use a clear water jet cutting machine. The device is manufactured using modern technologies and is suitable for cutting various materials, including glass and metal. Compared with the laser cutting machine, the water jet cutting machine is more versatile and suitable for different projects.

Waterjet cutting is an industrial tool that uses a mixture of water and an abrasive substance under high pressure to cut different materials. This cutting method is used in the manufacture of car parts, where high precision is needed. A thin, high-pressure jet of water cuts a narrow line in the workpiece material.

If larger materials such as steel or titanium are to be cut, a granular abrasive must be added to the water jet. This mixture increases cutting power. Water jet cutting uses "pure water" to cut foam, package items, gaskets, gibson board, carpet, food, rubber, and many other soft materials. The cutting strength of this pure water jet is so great that it can cut steel, copper, aluminum, granite, marble, and even laminated glass. Waterjet cutting does not create heat, therefore materials such as copper and aluminum do not deform.
